IBEW Local 38 and Laborers Local 310 Commit to Member Health by Linking with Marathon Health for Healthcare Services

Health centers aim to contain healthcare costs and improve the continuum of care for more than 7,500 members and their families

Winooski, Vermont and Cleveland, Ohio, April 17, 2019 – Marathon Health, LLC, a provider of onsite health centers that enable employers and unions to optimize the health of their workforce and members, today announced the opening of two health and wellness centers under agreements with Cleveland-based IBEW Local 38 and Laborers Local 310. More than 7,500 members and their families are eligible to use primary and preventive care, physical therapy, and counseling services provided at the health centers in Beachwood and Brooklyn, Ohio.

Local 38 sponsors a Taft-Hartley benefit trust serving thousands of organized electrical workers and their families in northeast Ohio. Since its founding in 1895, the union has led the nation in negotiations for fair work hours, wages, benefits, and safe working conditions. In addition, they helped put an end to child labor in the United States and are committed to ensuring fair treatment of injured and retired workers. Local 38 has helped ignite Greater Cleveland’s expansion. Local 38 members have contributed to successful new construction and to major renovations, including the Cleveland Medical Mart and Convention Center, the Great Lakes Science Center, and the Rocket Fieldhouse/Quicken Loans Arena.
