I knew something was wrong, I never felt good. I was very emotional over nothing and was so tired I could barely function. I was diagnosed with Follicular Lymphoma. Before finishing maintenance treatment, I
was diagnosed with APL Leukemia, which almost ended my life. After a month-long hospital stay, I came home and got internal shingles. Once I recovered, I had both knees replaced, having suffered from osteoarthritis for years. After many years of hurting, I am now on the road to recovery.

I have worked with Sherry Rayne Moya, FNP, at The Well to improve my health. She is a star because she listens. Not only has she helped refer me to specialists when needed, she provides health coaching to help me manage my recovery.

I am currently in remission for both cancers and am healing. I make healthy eating a priority, rarely drink alcohol, and am walking more every day, which has led to weight loss. I feel more positive, am not taking medications, and feel better than I have in years. I’m anxious for warmer weather so I can go camping, hiking, and do all the other things I haven’t been able to do since before I got sick!

Almost losing your life makes you realize how precious it is. Your life is in your hands. It is our job to use the tools available wisely and listen and know your body. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your doctor if you know something isn’t right. Be persistent!
