I weighed 340 pounds and struggled with several health issues, including depression, low testosterone, high blood pressure, high red blood count, sleep apnea, sciatica, and chronic pain. At times, my body hurt so badly I was unable to move. I had trouble getting in and out of vehicles, and my wife often had to dress me because I couldn’t manage it on my own. My family life and job performance suffered, and I lacked energy and motivation.

I decided to see Amanda Wright, NP, at the Averitt Wellness Center. She encouraged me to take care of myself and make changes to my lifestyle. At the end of January 2019, I decided I could not live like that anymore.

With Amanda’s guidance, I started recording everything I ate and made positive changes to my exercise routine and food choices. By December 2019, I had lost 130 pounds, weighing in at 210 pounds!

At 46 years old, I am now in the best shape of my life. For the first time, I actually have some abs showing through! I no longer have high blood pressure, sleep apnea, sciatica, or chronic pain. My depression is better, and my endocrinologist told me that my blood work is like someone 20 years younger than me. What’s more, I’ve stopped taking most of the medications I was on. Most importantly, I have tons of energy, I’m motivated, pain-free, and I enjoy being active with my family.
